Senior Interior Designer

Glen Ellyn, Illinois

As Senior Interior Designer, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of high-end residential projects performing all phases of interior design from project management, client engagement and management, to design conceptualization to development. This position offers training and development, as well as an opportunity to work in a fun, creative and collaborative environment.

Job Description

  • You would be the primary contact for the entire project team (clients, builders, vendors, etc.).
  • Manages project schedules and profitability goals for each project.
  • Manages design team through all phases of the project, including overseeing the selection and presentation of FF&E and other material selections.
  • Develops and manages project schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborates with and assists contractor with material selection estimates and specifications for bid.
  • Job site visits to communicate project requirements and design intent
  • Develops construction documents, with the team, and ensures the quality of the documents produced.
  • Interacts with clients, contractors and architects in early job phases to assist in design direction.
  • Advanced knowledge of building regulations and safety codes.
  • Oversees FF&E selections and estimates
  • Occasional travel to out-of-state job sites
  • Most importantly, you’ll be equally responsible for making our clients feel comfortable and confident in the team’s ability to manage their project and ensure they, and you, have fun throughout the process!

Qualifications

  • You must have a degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • At least 7+ years of work experience at an Interior Design and/or Architectural firm in the residential or hospitality design industry
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must
  • You have to be able to hand draw/hand draft
  • You have to be task-oriented and have great communication skills
  • Has to be a highly collaborative team player
  • Quick learner who can navigate project management software (Studio Designer experience a plus, but not required)
  • Possess strong customer service skills for interface with clients, vendors and contractors.
  • You must be able to manage several jobs at once and be EXTREMELY organized

Commitment

  • Full-time — Monday-Friday — 8:30-5:30
  • This is an in-office position located in Glen Ellyn, IL. This is NOT a remote position—we have a collaborative environment and work well as a team in the office.
