Kamping Out

Downers Grove, IL

Here, the woods serve as inspiration for a family home with natural comforts and statement style.

Homes are ever-evolving, and this one has been since the beginning.

These clients came to us young and engaged, and throughout the build process, planned a wedding, got married, and had their first child. From the time we started designing, to the time they moved in, so much had changed in their lives, but their “design DNA” stayed the same.

Everything, outside and in, is warm and textural, with minimal distractions from the real focal point–Mother Nature. Large windows with ultra-thin muntins invite the outdoors in, Oceana quartzite makes a statement on the fireplace facade, and a neutral palette is studded with textural pattern in earthy tones.

This is wayyy better than glamping.

This home’s woodsy setting and nature as muse is where the resemblance to your last camping trip ends.

Here, natural elements and textures meet modern comforts, like lush rugs and textiles, comfortably durable furnishings, and statement lighting. Seems like a good place to camp out, like, forever.

From stone to steel and wool to wood, natural materials create authentic, understated spaces. For a crowning touch, deftly chosen lighting acts as functional sculpture, topping clean-lined furniture with statement style.
